Why have I decided this?

I decided on doing a spa just outside Oudtshoorn, at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge. I live near by and we have a guest house here, instead of doing a spa at an amazing well known place in the world I saw the need for one in my own community, best part is that all the guest houses near by would get a benifit out of it. It would give them the oppertunity to advertise on their websites that there is a local spa close by and that guests get a sertain percentage discount, which would attract more guests to ones' guest house. I decided to design a spa at Buffelsdrift because the vibe and the area there is perfect! Our target market here is mostly focused on the international guests, these guests want to experience some form of Africa when they tour around here, so that is what I will give them. My very own African spa.

 

Catch my vibe?

The vibe people need to get is Africa. Therefore I have to use deep but bright colours, like yellow, red,orange, brown, black and white. The walls and floors will be cement with a gloss like cover over it.  Furniture will be wood, steel and fake leather. the pots and bowls and so on will be tradisional pots made by different African cultures, to give a more tribal vibe. My carpets will be woven but here and there I will  have a Nguni cattle skin, tipical cattle found amoung African tribes. The ceilings are going to have reeds hammered to it, this would be a wonderful way to clean our rivers! I want to have photos' on the wall of Nguni cattle, tribal images and Aloe succulants, the plants around the builing will be fynbos and many Aloe succulants. Doors will also be made of wood or from cream material.
